  7.     Bail had been set at $10 million, but a judge reduced it to
  8. $2 million.  That was the amount required before MARLON BRANDO
  9. could take his eldest son CHRISTIAN home from the Los Angeles
  10. county jail. Meeting with reporters outside the jail last week,
  11. Brando called his son's release "a moment I have long looked
  12. forward to." The moment really did hit home: the actor used his
  13. mountaintop estate as collateral. Behind bars since the May
  14. killing of his half sister's boyfriend, Christian, 32, was
  15. pale. When his father asked, "Can you smile?" he complied
  16. wanly. The trial is scheduled for October.
